Arundel and Brighton Diocesan Catholic Youth Service celebrated its 30th Anniversary on Saturday 19th November 2011 at a joyful gathering in St Wilfrid’s School, Crawley.
As well as a “welcoming” display of events and memories of the last 30 years there was entertainment and refreshments and great conversations shared.
Mass was presided over by Bishop Kieran Conry with numerous concelebrants. It was a heart-warming liturgy, reflecting on the graces and blessings of YAAB and connecting very much to the Prayers and Readings of the Day for the Solemnity of Christ the King – National Youth Sunday – (Ezekiel 34:11-12,15-17 / Psalm 22:1-3.5-6 r.1 / 1 Corinthians 15:20-26,28 / Matthew 25:31-46).
In his homily Bishop Kieran reminder those present that they are known and loved by God. As a big and powerful King Jesus uses that power to care for us and guide us.
And that’s what the Youth Service has tried to do over the years, ministering in the diocese in the care of all God’s children and working for a kingdom of truth and life, a kingdom of holiness and grace, a kingdom of justice, love and peace.
Congratulations from CYMFed to all associated with YAAB and the hope of many more fruitful years to come.
