Pope Benedict has released his message ahead of World Youth Day (WYD) in Brazil in July 2013.
The celebrated statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking that beautiful Brazilian city will be an eloquent symbol for us. Christ’s open arms are a sign of his willingness to embrace all those who come to him, and his heart represents his immense love for everyone and for each of you. Let yourselves be drawn to Christ!
Whether young people and young adults from your area are going to WYD or not, there is plenty in the message to reflect on both as people working with young people, and for young people and young adults themselves. Full text here.
Don’t forget, CYMFed members have produced many resources for WYD preparation. The National Office for Vocation is leading on WYD for the Bishops’ Conference, and there’s still time for young adults to sign up to go to WYD.
For those not making the trip, some member dioceses and organisations of CYMFed are coming together to offer [email protected] at Aylesford Priory on WYD weekend, 26-29 July 2013.
